Labour versus the tap itself
Cost guides usually separate plumber labour from the retail price of the tap. A basic basin tap differs enormously from a designer boiling-water tap. Published labour illustrations often sit roughly in the £60–£150 area for straightforward swaps, with awkward kitchen sink work higher.
Factors on site
Seized flange nuts, tiled surrounds, absent isolation valves, non-standard hole sizes and connecting to filters or softeners all add time. Hard water scale can destroy new cartridges quickly if the underlying water quality is ignored.
