Macerator and Saniflo repairs
Macerator pumps allow toilets and grey water where a gravity soil connection is difficult. When they jam, smell or refuse to run, bathrooms and basements can go out of use quickly.
Typical faults
Foreign objects in the macerator, failed level switches, blocked discharge lines, and electrical supply issues. Using the unit beyond its fixture rating causes chronic tripping.
On the visit
We isolate power and water, open and clear the unit per manufacturer guidance, test the discharge run, and advise if replacement is more economical than repair. Blockages that are actually in the gravity soil stack are redirected to blocked toilet diagnosis.

Correct use
Only flush what the manufacturer allows. Heavy toilet paper, wipes and dental floss jam cutters. Educate guests in holiday lets — macerator rooms fail most often under unfamiliar users.
Alarm behaviour
Many units beep on high level. Switch off power if instructed by the maker after a jam, clear, then reset. Repeated alarms mean the discharge line or non-return valve needs inspection.
Replacement planning
If spares are obsolete, a modern equivalent may need slight pipe alterations. We quote that clearly before stripping the old pump.
