Toilet repair
Toilets that run continuously, flush weakly, or leak at the base are usually repairable without a full suite replacement. Cistern internals wear; soil seals shrink; pan connectors crack.
Frequent faults
Failed fill valves (ballcock or modern float valves), worn flush valves, broken dual-flush buttons, leaking flush pipes, and wax or rubber seal failures at the soil outlet. Hard water accelerates valve wear.
Visit process
We isolate the cistern, diagnose the valve or seal, replace parts with compatible kits where available, and test through several flush cycles. If the pan is cracked or the suite is obsolete, we discuss toilet installation as an alternative and agree which path you want before charging for major work.
When to call
Call when the only toilet is unusable, water runs without stopping, or flooring is wet at the pan base. Guides: toilet not flushing, how to unblock a toilet. Blockages: blocked toilet. Cost context: toilet repair cost. Phone 01332 314146.
Parts availability
Universal valves fit many cisterns; some designer suites need OEM kits with longer lead times. We prefer to confirm compatibility before promising same-day completion on unusual brands.
Running toilets and bills
A silently running overflow can waste a surprising volume each day. If you hear water in the quiet of night, isolate the cistern and book a repair rather than living with it.
Seals and flooring
Damp at the pan base can rot chipboard. If we find soft floor, we make the toilet safe and advise on carpentry before a heavy new suite goes down.
